 A two acre garden, developed since 1986 from farmland, is on a north-west slope overlooking Ardmore, the Manukau and around to Glenbrook. The garden is still under development.The visitor is encouraged to wander quietly among rose gardens with over 600 bushes, before moving along a meandering path through native trees and ferns which are under planted with a growing collection of Rhododendrons, Vireya Rhodos and azaleas. If you are fortunate you may glimpse a woodpigeon, be joined by a group of tuis, or see the green and red flash of the Eastern Rosellas as they swoop past. A pond, complete with ducks and frogs, is the next feature which will later include a rock garden, stream and waterfall. From here the visitor moves back up towards the house through an extensive perennial garden with a large collection of penstemons and salvias. This garden also contains many camellias, magnolias, a variety of shade trees and old fashioned roses.
